How can I use BL Banking alongside an existing Electronic Banking Program?

This operating mode is only possible if chip cards are used as key media.

If the existing Electronic Banking Program uses chip cards and the bank details have already been set up, proceed as follows.

Click on Finish. Your bank connection is now ready in BL Banking. Initialization is not necessary, as this has already been carried out with the existing Electronic Banking Program.

You can set up additional existing bank connections in BL Banking as described in chapter Orders - Bank connections - Set up bank connection. After clicking on Finish, these bank connections are also available in BL Banking.

When I use a smartcard, can I also use the apps for smartphones and tablets?

The use of apps for smartphones and tablets in combination with smartcards is not possible, because the key of smartcards cannot be exported.

FAQ 139

I cannot log in to BL Banking with my smartcard. What can I do?

This problem occurs if the preset password was not changed during the initial installation or migration to the smartcard. This password is specified by the chip card issuer for protection purposes. The transport PIN is usually a 5-digit number. There are two passwords on the chip card, which are called Password and Signature PIN in BL Banking. Both passwords are protected by the Transport PIN.

To change the passwords on the smartcard, you need a temporary installation. Proceed as follows:

  1. Copy the BL Banking installation directory, e.g. C:\blbanking.
  2. Navigate to the directory containing the copy. Delete the subdirectory workspace there.
  3. Execute the program file BL Banking.exe. The initial setup wizard starts. Enter your license number.
  4. On the next page, you can change the passwords on the smartcard.
  5. After changing the password, cancel the wizard. You can delete the temporary installation now.

FAQ 143

When signing with a chip card, a window with the text The signature PIN was not entered is displayed. What shall I do?

The window is displayed, because only the Password was changed during the initial setup with smartcard, but not the Signature PIN. Therefore, you can log in but not sign.

  1. Find the accompanying letter for the smartcard, which contains the Transport PIN.
  2. In BL Banking, open the menu item Edit – Preferences.
  3. Open the page Security. Click on the button Change signature PIN. This button is only available when using a smartcard.
  4. Enter the Transport PIN from the accompanying letter into the card reader and then change it. The smartcard is now ready for signing.
