An Internet connection is needed to install and operate BL Banking. For instance, the application accesses the Internet to retrieve account statements, to transmit payment orders, or to recognize and load available updates.
Your computer is generally connected to the Internet via an in-house network. The Internet connection is frequently established via a so-called proxy. Most of the time, BL Banking will automatically recognize the access data for the proxy. If you need to authenticate yourself to the proxy, a data entry window appears in which you enter username and password. By clicking the checkbox you can tell BL Banking to remember the access data.
You can also enter your proxy access data manually in the preferences (see section Preferences - General). In this case, BL Banking will not attempt to recognize a proxy itself but will instead use your access data.
