Before converting a table in CSV or Excel format, you must assign the columns of the table to the fields of the payment. The file is read in and a mapping proposal is created. The fields depend on the selected payment type. To the right of each field, you can either select a column from the table using a drop-down list, leave the field empty or enter a fixed value for some fields below the drop-down list, which will be used for all rows in the table. The easiest way to make the mapping is if the structure of the table is based on the field list.
Use the File contains column header (in the first row) checkbox above the list of fields to set whether the first row of the table consists of column headers. In the Number format field, select the pattern for amounts, i.e. comma or period as decimal separator. The number format does not apply to dates or numbers within a text field.
A preview with the values from the table is displayed below the fields. This makes it easier to map the columns to the fields in the form. The colums are mapped in a specific order. If you change the mapping, the preview shows the new configuration.
In principle, CSV files can contain different separators for columns, however the separator must not appear in the content. A semicolon as a separator is expected, taking into account the notation of amounts with a decimal point (single) or with a comma as a decimal or thousands separator (German or English number format). The table format cannot be interpreted for files with invalid or inconsistent separators. If the preview does not show any columns or the content has been moved to other columns, the file must be re-exported by the external program. Alternatively, the table format can be corrected using an appropriate editor.
After mapping all columns, click on Import. The validity of the values in the mapped columns is checked. If the values are invalid, you will receive a message with processing instructions. The import must be completed within a short time. Otherwise, the file will be deleted from the server and you will be asked to restart the process.
