International relay transfer (XML)

With an international relay transfer according to ISO Standard 20022, you can make a transfer in which, unlike a standard international transfer (XML), your account-holding bank cannot be reached directly.

On the originator's side, two banks are involved in a relay transfer:

• a sending bank where you have EBICS bank connection
• an account-holding bank (without EBICS bank connection)

The bank sending the relay payments must add the following order types or BTFs to your user profile:

• RTX or RFT:SWF_pain.001 for payments
• RTZ or REP:SWF:RFT_pain.002 for notifications

There are no separate types for the originator and recipient of a relay transfer:

• The originators are SEPA originators.
• The recipients are Recipients for international transfers (XML).

For the originators you use for relay payments, enter the BIC of the sending institution as provided by the bank; see Payments – Originators – Record originator – SEPA originator. A receiving institute as additional intermediary party is not currently provided for the originator side.

You must manually create the account from which you want to make a transfer, as described in Payments – Accounts – New account. Both account types are possible (account with an IBAN or German account number / account with a foreign account number). Assign the sending institute as the bank and the intended SEPA originator. Enter the BIC of the account-holding bank.

Das Dialogfenster zur Erfassung einer Relay-Überweisung ist fast genauso auszufüllen wie bei einer normalen Internationalen Überweisung (XML). The dialog box for entering a relay transfer is almost identical to the one used for a standard international transfer (XML). You can find information on how to fill out the fields there. Also note the following:

• If you select the desired account in the Originator section, only manually created accounts are offered—not the accounts specified by the bank via HTD. Note that there may also be manually created accounts for other payment types.
• The originator stored in the account is automatically included in the payment. You can select a different one from the drop-down list. The BIC associated with the originator is automatically copied into the field Sending institute. If not, click Change and enter the BIC of the sending institute in the originator’s master data. For the next payment, the originator’s details will be suggested based on the last selection.
• Select the recipient from the drop-down list to add its details to the payment. The BIC of a correspondent bank may be listed there; see Recipients – Record recipient – Recipient for an international transfer in XML format.
