Most overviews can contain a large amount of data, which can make it challenging to select items and get a clear picture. You can use the filter function to narrow down the display to the data you want. Open a dialog box by clicking the funnel icon in the upper-right corner or by selecting Filter […] from the drop-down menu next to it.
Once a filter is saved, the overview will remain filtered until you remove the filter. You will recognize a filtered overview by the funnel button appearing pressed. Clicking it removes the filter. Clicking the unpressed button opens a dialog box.

Depending on the use case, you can enter your filter criteria in a single field or in several specific fields.
If you enter a term, all default columns will be scanned. Some columns may be excluded. For example, when filtering for accounts, the filter term will not be searched for in the bank name.

Unlike the basic filter function, the specific criteria apply to certain columns, as indicated by their names. Only these columns are scanned. Cross-column filtering is performed only with fields named Text. For each term, you can also select the desired relationship. This allows you to exclude terms as well. For text fields, in addition to contains / does not contain, you can also specify whether the term should appear at the beginning or at the end. For dates, you can specify whether the searched date is the same as, newer than, or older than specified. Alternatively, you can specify a period. If you enter more than one criterion, only those records that meet all criteria will be found.
The OK button closes the dialog box and filters the overview accordingly. This also applies if the column containing a filter criterion has been hidden. The Reset button clears all entries without closing the dialog box. Confirm this as well by clicking OK.
