Depending on your card reader, entering passwords will differ slightly. There are devices with a built-in numbered keyboard that BL Banking recognizes automatically. In this case, the application will not display an entry field for the password. You will instead be required to enter the password directly on the card reader.
Devices for elevated security requirements are equipped with an additional display that can show messages, for instance prompting you to first enter the old password. It is also possible that the reader device software displays a pop-up window telling you to follow instructions displayed on the card reader.
To be able to better analyze technical problems with smartcard readers, you can display the status and possibly occurring error messages. To do this, double-click on the blue icon in the login window when starting the program. Then another window appears with a text that can be copied and sent to the user support.
